Achtzehn - Wagnis Leben

Deutschland 2012-2014 Dokumentarfilm

Summary

18 - Dare to Live

Sequel to the 2011 documentary "Fourteen," which followed four girls who had children at the age of 14. Four years later, the young mothers are on the "official" threshold of adulthood. The film shows how the women try to prepare for their future lives and balance their duties as mothers with their personal needs. Fabienne has found a new partner and now fears the interference of the jealous father of her child; Lisa lives with her parents in Hawaii and has since given birth to two more children; Laura is trying to graduate from school despite the demands of motherhood; Stephanie is embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her own mother over her child. "Eighteen" is the second part of a trilogy. After ten more years, filmmaker Cornelia Grünberg wants to visit the mothers again.
