Summary
Sabine and Michael, both around 40 years old, live in Hamburg-Altona. While Michael already has a son from a previous relationship, Sabine wants a baby of her own. When she eventually gets pregnant, Michael patiently accompanies her throughout her mood swings while finding solace in his gardening. Yet when Sabine loses the child in the third month of her pregnancy, their relationship is tarnished. The everyday routine becomes a burden, and they hardly speak anymore. Sabine realizes that only a radical step can solve this situation.
