Biography

Eko Fresh was born as Ekrem Bora in Cologne on September 3 1983. Growing up in Mönchengladbach, he started to perform as a rap artist at the age of fifteen. At eighteen, he released his first extended play, and in 2002, he signed with Optik Records, the label of his then-mentor Kool Savas. Yet he soon severed his ties with Savas, and enjoyed chart success with the major release "Ich bin jung und brauche das Geld". Following more releases and work for other artists like Yvonne Catterfeld, he founded his own label German Dream Entertainment in 2004. Eko Fresh's rivalry with other rap artists, especially Kool Savas, made headlines and was also subject of several of his songs. From 2006 on, he frequently collaborated with Bushido and later also signed with his label "ersguterjunge".

Until 2014, Eko Fresh appeared on a total eleven albums, including solo records and collaborations. In 2013, his seventh solo release "Eksodus" reached the top position of the German charts. He also enjoyed popular success with singles like "König von Deutschland" and "Gheddo".

After playing a spoiled wannabe rapper who is kicked out by his mother in the TV sitcom "Blockbustaz", Eko Fresh made his big screen debut as an actor in the comedy "3 Türken & 1 Baby".
