Biography

Tom Beck was born in Nürnberg on February 26 1978. From 1999 until 2003, he studied acting and dance at the Bayerische Theaterakademie in Munich. Already before his professional training, he played in bands and performed as a singer and musician.

During his studies, Tom Beck won a national newcomer award for best performance of a musical number. Following his graduation, he sang on the soundtrack of the motion picture "Aus der Tiefe des Raumes" ("A Pass From the Back") and played a small scene as a musician in "Mädchen Mädchen 2" ("Girls on Top 2"). In 2004, he made his TV debut with roles in "Ein krasser Deal" and "Eine unter Tausend". He went on to guest-star in numerous TV shows and had a recurring role as a police detective in the series "Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei". He also starred in the made-for-TV feature films "Die Frauen der Parkallee" (2007), "Beim nächsten Tanz wird alles anders" (2007), "Ausgerechnet Sex!" (2011) and "Geister all inclusive" (2011). In 2011, Beck released his first solo album "Superficial Animal", which was followed by two more records in 2012 and 2015.

After he had his first major role in a theatrical release in the comedy "Ohne Gnade" ("No Mercy", 2013), Tom Beck was cast in Matthias Schweighöfer's box office hit "Vaterfreuden" ("Joy of Fatherhood", 2014). He next appeared in Anno Saul's "Irre sind männlich" (2014), the comedy "Alles ist Liebe" (2014) and Margarethe von Trotta's drama "Die abhandene Welt" ("The Misplaced World", 2015). On TV, he starred in the comedies "Meine allerschlimmste Freundin" (2015) and "Einstein". He next joined the prolific ensemble cast of the comedy "Männertag".

In addition to his career as an actor and musician, Tom Beck is one of the owners of the artist agency Check One Two Perfect.
