Biography

Palina Rojinski was born in Leningrad (today St. Petersburg) on April 21 1985. After her family relocated to Berlin in 1991, she became a competitive gymnast, yet later quit professional sports at the age of 14 due to health issues. While studying German literature and sports in Berlin, she began to moonlight as a DJ and rap artist and appeared in several music videos and commercials. This led to her being cast by MTV, where she was co-host of the show "MTV Home" from 2009 until 2011. She then guest-starred frequently on "neoParadise" (2011-2013; ZDFneo), and eventually got her own TV show "Zirkus Rojinski". Rojinski is also one of the hosts of the programs "VIVA Top 100" (since) and "Circus HalliGalli" (since 2013). In 2013, she was part of the jury on the TV show "Got to Dance", which won a Bavarian Television Award. With "Offline – Palina World Wide Weg" (since 2014), Rojinski started another show, in which she has to fulfil a self-chosen mission in a foreign town without money, a cell phone or access to internet. The following year, she also became the host of "The Big Surprise", which confronts its unknowing candidates with a day filled with personal horrors before they are rewarded with the fulfilment of one big wish.

In 2009, Rojinski made her feature film debut, playing a singer in the comedy "Männerherzen" ("Men in the City"). She also had a cameo in the sequel "Männerherzen... und die ganz ganz große Liebe" ("Men in the City", 2011), and had a supporting role in Detlev Buck's "RubbeldieKatz" ("Woman in Love"). After playing the Russian girlfriend of a much older man in Florian David Fitz' comedy "Jesus liebt mich" ("Jesus Loves Me", 2012), Rojinski joined the cast of the nine-part TV series "Zeit der Helden" (2013) and also appeared in the TV comedy "Weniger ist mehr" (2013) and the episode "Die Fette Hoppe" of the popular "Tatort" series. Palina Rojinski got her first leading role in a feature film release with "Traumfrauen" (2015), in which she plays an easy-going girl who advises her heartbroken flatmate on sex and men.
