Palina Rojinski, born on 21 April 1985 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Soviet Union, moved to Berlin with her family in the spring of 1991. As a child, she was successful as a competitive athlete in rhythmic gymnastics, but gave up her career at the age of 14 for health reasons. She studied literature and history in Berlin; she also began to perform as a DJane and rapper and took part in music videos and commercials. Through these jobs she was discovered for the television station MTV, where she was seen as co-moderator in the program "MTV Home" from 2009 to 2011.
Afterwards she had regular guest appearances in the show "neoParadise" (2011-2013; ZDFneo), a German version of "MTV Home". In 2012 she was given her own TV format by ZDFneo: "Zirkus Rojinski" gave insights into her life through sketches and clips. Rojinski's other moderations and co-moderations include "VIVA Top 100" (from 2011 on) and "Circus HalliGalli" (from 2013 on). In 2013 she was a member of the jury for the show "Got to Dance", which was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize. In 2014, Rojinski was given another TV format, "Offline - Palina World Wide Weg", in which she had to fulfill a mission she herself had conceived - in a foreign city, without money, telephone or internet. In the following year, "The Big Surprise" followed, in which the candidates experienced their very personal horror for one day, in order to finally get a big wish fulfilled.
Rojinski made her debut as a cinema actress in 2009 with a role as a singer in the successful comedy "Männerherzen" ("Men in the City"). In 2011 she made a guest appearance in the sequel "Männerherzen... und die ganz ganz große Liebe" ("Men in the City 2") and had a small role as a sister of the film diva played by Alexandra Maria Lara, in Detlev Bucks travesty comedy "Rubbeldiekatz" ("Woman in Love"). In Florian David Fitz' comedy "Jesus liebt mich" ("Jesus Loves Me", 2012), Rojinski was seen in a supporting role as the new Russian girlfriend of a much older man. In 2013 she belonged to the ensemble of the nine-part real-time series "Zeit der Helden", as well as the social comedy "Weniger ist mehr" (TV) with Benno Fürmann and the Weimar "Tatort" episode "Die Fette Hoppe" (TV). Her first leading role in a cinema production was in the comedy "Traumfrauen" (2015) by Anika Decker, in which she impersonated a happy-go-lucky woman who gives her lovesick roommate tips on men and sex.
In Simon Verhoeven's successful comedy "Willkommen bei den Hartmanns" ("Welcome to Germany", 2016) she played the aimless daughter of the titular family, a performance for which she was awarded the German Comedy Prize.
In the summer of 2017, Rojinski worked as a reporter in Russia for the German public broadcaster ARD as part of the FIFA Confederations Cup. She also worked for ARD in Russia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Since March 2019 she has her own podcast entitled "Podkinski" on Spotify. Fortnightly, she talks with her guests about their lives and careers.
In autumn 2019 she played a supporting role in the comedy "Get Lucky - Sex verändert alles". Under the direction of Simon Verhoeven again, she starred in the comedy "Nightlife" in 2019 (start: February 2020), about a romantic date that takes an unexpectedly adventurous turn.
