Biography

Nina Grosse began studying German, Philosophy and Theater Studies in Munich before transferring to the Academy of Television & Film (HFF/M) in 1981. In 1987 her graduation film "Der gläserne Himmel" ("The Glass Sky") was nominated for a German Film Award the same year. Her collaboration in 1990 with Helmut Berger on "Nie im Leben" resulted in the Max-Ophuels Award in 1991 and another German Film Award nomination. Her other films include: "Metropolitan" (1980), "Der Traum der Schwestern Pechstein" (1984), "Tote leben nicht allein" (1989), "Thea und Nat" (1991), "Der schwarze Engel" (1994), "Kinder der Nacht" (1995), "Der kalte Tod" (1996), "Feuerreiter" ("Fire Rider", 1997), "Olgas Sommer" ("Olga's Summer", 2003) and "Das Wochenende" ("The Weekend", 2012).
