From 1994 on, Matthias Keilich studied at the departments of screenplay and direction of Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie dffb and finished his studies with the award-winning feature film "Nicht Fisch, Nicht Fleisch" (Neither Fish, nor Fowl). Before that, Keilich had already won several awards for his short films at international film festivals. Keilich mainly works together with author Khyana el Bitar. Together they wrote the screen play to the film "Die Könige der Nutzholzgewinnung" (Lumber Kings) that was directed by Keilich.
