Biography
Evgeny Sanghadzhiev, born in 1987, trained at the State Institute of Theater Arts GITIS in Moscow until 2010. After graduation, he had engagements at various theaters, such as the State Theater of Nations and the Bolshoi in Moscow. He later became an actor at the renowned Gogol Center, under the direction of the system-critical Kirill Serebrennikov, who was forced to resign in 2021.
From the beginning of his career, Sanghadzhiev was also active as a film and television actor, mostly in supporting roles in Russian productions, such as the science fiction film "Prityazhenie" ("Attraction," 2017) and the Afghanistan war drama "Bratstvo" ("Leaving Afghanistan", 2019). He played leading roles in the mystery comedy "Happy End" (2019) and in the German production "1986" (2019, directed by Lothar Herzog).
