Biography

Enno Trebs, born in 1995, came to acting rather by chance. At an (unsuccessful) audition for a role in Detlev Buck's children's film "Hände weg von Mississippi" (2007), an acting agent took notice of him and signed him up - as well as his one-year older brother Theo and one-year younger sister Lilli. Enno played his first role in the same year in the television production "Krauses Fest" (director: Bernd Böhlich) with "Polizeiruf 110" constable Horst Krause and Dominique Horwitz.

He then had a striking role in Michael Haneke's multiple award-winning Cannes film "Das weiße Band - Eine deutsche Kindergeschichte" ("The White Ribbon", 2009), which also starred his siblings Lilli and Theo. He was then seen in TV productions such as the series "Inga Lindström" and "Löwenzahn" as well as in supporting roles in the prison drama "Picco" (2010) and Chris Kraus' historical drama "Poll" ("The Poll Diaries", 2010).

In the next few years Trebs appeared in a number of television productions. For example, he played the leader of a goth clique in an episode of the crime series "Alles Klara" (2013), and in the TV movie "Mona kriegt ein Baby" (2014) he played the 17-year-old boyfriend of a 14-year-old girl who becomes pregnant by him unintentionally.

On the big screen, Trebs could be seen in the right-wing drama "Wir sind jung. Wir sind stark." ("We are Young. We are Strong.", 2014) in a small but crucial role as a hopeless, suicidal teenager from Rostock-Lichtenhagen; in the feature film "Freistatt" ("Sanctuary", 2015), he played the highest ranking of a group of young people in a brutal Christian reformatory. In Jakob Lass' coming-of-age film "Tiger Girl" (2016), he was an aspiring policeman who takes advantage of a young woman's drunkenness; in "Verlorene" ("Lost Ones", 2018), he was a carpenter and admirer of the mysterious main character. In the coming-of-age drama "Raus", he played a member of a youth clique that wants to escape social norms.

In addition, he continued to appear in various TV productions, for example as a member of a regional vigilante group in the "Polizeiruf 110" episode "Der Preis der Freiheit" (2016) or as a traumatized police student in the "Tatort" episode "Borowski und der Fluch der weißen Möwe" (2020).

For the 2020/21 season, Trebs became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. There he played the Baron von Burleigh in Schiller's "Maria Stuart" (2020), had the title role in "Woyzeck Interrupted" (2021) and was part of the main cast of the family story "Birthday Candles" alongside Corinna Harfouch (2022).

Enno Trebs also remained active as a movie actor. Hans-Christian Schmid cast him as a sensitive family caretaker in "Wir sind dann wohl die Angehörigen" ("We Are Next of Kin"", 2022), about the kidnapping of Jan Philipp Reemtsma; directed by Christian Petzold, he played a leading role in the relationship and friendship drama "Roter Himmel" ("Afire", 2023), which premiered in Germany.
