Biography

Bella Dayne was born on January 8, 1988 in East Berlin under the name of Isabelle Knispel. She began her career in the world of beauty pageants: as a teenager, she participated in the Miss East Germany competition in 2004 (finishing second) and was crowned Miss Germany in 2006.

From 2008 to 2011, Knispel received acting training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York. It was during this time that she adopted her stage name and began landing roles in various short films in 2009. She made guest appearances in television series such as "American Horror Story" (season: "Asylum", US 2012), "The Goldbergs" (US 2014), "Person of Interest" (US 2015) and "Man in the High Castle" (US 2016).

She had a recurring role as a Berlin waitress who falls in love with an android wanted by the authorities in the second and third seasons of the science fiction series "Humans" (UK/US 2016-2018), which depicts the evolving consciousness of humanoid androids. Bella Dayne took on a major starring role as Helena in the British-American Netflix series "Troy: Fall of a City" (2018).

She made her debut in a German-language production in the Berlin "Tatort" crime thriller "Das Mädchen, das allein nach Haus’ geht", portraying the wife of a Russian mobster who decides to testify against her husband. Directed by Simon Verhoeven, Dayne portrayed Ingrid "Milli" Segieth, the former partner of music producer Frank Farian, in "Girl You Know It's True" (DE/FR 2023), a movie about the rise and fall of disco-pop duo Milli Vanilli. She then starred as the muse of the title character in Oskar Roehler's film industry satire "Bad Director" (2023).
