Biography

Anne Hoegh Krohn, born 1966 in Oslo, Norway, initially studied philosophy and art history in her home town. Simultaneously, she also worked as a film journalist for the Norwegian film magazine "Filmaktuelt". In 1991, Hoegh Krohn moved to Berlin where she studied film and theatre studies before she went to Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in 1993 to study directing and screenplay writing. In 1999, she made her feature film debut with her graduation film "Fremde Freundin" ("Unknown Friend"): The psychological drama about two girlfriends who are haunted by a dark secret from their past was shown at several international festivals and was nominated for the First Steps Awards in 2000. After the TV movie "Geld macht sexy" (2002), starring Nina Proll and Peter Lohmeyer, Anne Hoegh Krohn finished her third feature film "Liebeslied", an unconventional blend of love story, drama, and musical, in 2009.
