Film synopsis: Heidi M. is in her late forties and has a small store in the pulsating center of Berlin. She goes out in the evenings with her friend Jacqui, but when she is unexpectedly confronted with romantic love, old wounds are opened. At first, she is hesitant to open up to a new man. But then she takes the chance to lead her life in a new direction...

"Heidi M." is an extraordinary portrait of a woman, with a mix of melodrama, social observation and road movie elements.

"Heidi M." was digitized by FILM SHIFT GbR as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2021.

filmportal.de, the central internet platform for German cinema and a department of DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut und Filmmuseum, documents the progress and results of "Förderprogramm Filmerbe", which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the German federal states and the German Federal Film Board. The first five minutes of feature-length films digitized with funding from the FFE are presented on filmportal.de to document the successful completion of the respective project.
