Film synopsis: A collection of tragicomical stories which take place during the failed "Polterabend" (the German traditional party on the night before a wedding) of an American exile and a German woman. Stories about people who have lost their aim in life: what they have, they don′t want, and what they want, they′ll probably never get. Realizing the absurdity of this trap, they celebrate their misfortune, at least for one night. My Sweet Home is about the search for a foothold in life, a solid ground to walk on, a place to call home.

"My Sweet Home" was digitized by Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion GmbH as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2021.

filmportal.de, the central internet platform for German cinema and a department of DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut und Filmmuseum, documents the progress and results of "Förderprogramm Filmerbe", which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the German federal states and the German Federal Film Board. The first five minutes of feature-length films digitized with funding from the FFE are presented on filmportal.de to document the successful completion of the respective project.
