Summary
Research Refugees: Duologue
Germany, 2015. 441,899 first-time asylum applications. Thousands of concerned citizens. Over 500 assaults by right-wing extremists. Eleven short films.
In a project supervised by Michael Klier, students of the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and the Bauhaus University Weimar have sketched a multi-perspective and polyphonic picture of their German Autumn of 2015. What has been created are ballads on gold foil, children’s songs, the way of the world, Greek tragedies, dragon riders, soliloquies and battery recharging units, all short and to the point. Stories of coming and going, and the wait in between. A work in progress on the present situation. "Duologue" is one of the eleven short films on the current state of affairs: the German people’s fear of these strangers – a reluctant dialogue.
