Summary
The Door
Based on the eponymous novel by Magda Szabó, the film tells the story of a special relationship between two women in the 1960s in Hungary, the writer Magda and her housekeeper Emerenc. Over the years, Magda and the stubborn, somehow mysterious Emerenc develop a kind of friendship, although Emerenc sets strict boundaries concerning her private life, and just like everyone else, Magda is never allowed to enter Emerenc's home. Some day the old housekeeper doesn't leave her house anymore, and Magda dares to cross the threshold.
