Die stillen Trabanten

Deutschland 2021/2022 Spielfilm

Summary

Dark Satellites

Film adaptation of the book "Die stillen Trabanten" by Clemens Meyer, comprising three short stories. One episode is about Christa, a cleaner, and Birgitt, a hairdresser, who meet every night in a station bar. The two women have come to terms with their simple lives and their loneliness, but the evenings they spend together serve them to feel some closeness and to indulge their dreams. The second story is about the guards Hans and Erik. While Hans keeps an eye on a Russian barracks, Erik looks after "Object 95". One night he meets Marika, who comes from Eastern Europe and now lives in a hostel for foreigners right next to Object 95. A tentative rapprochement takes place at the fence separating the two areas. The third episode tells the story of friends Jens and Mario, whose dream has long been to open a snack bar. But Mario often seems out of sorts. New neighbours finally change the perspective of the two.
