Die Millionen der Yvette

DDR 1956 Spielfilm

Summary

Düsseldorf around 1900: The Frenchwoman Yvette runs a small fashion house and is eager on getting admitted to the city′s polite society. But although she is worshipped by every young gentleman, she somehow fails to achieve her goal. Her ex-boyfriend Maurice Daurignac talks her into an act of revenge, a big fraud. Thus, Yvette pretends that she has inherited ten million francs and stages a simulated money transfer to the classy bank company Bleichstetter, which is supposed to manage the inheritance until the heirship suit is ended. From now on, Yvette and Maurice live in abundance. When the fraud is eventually exposed, her lawyer Dr. Hellmer can barely prevent the furious citizens from taking Yvette to account.
