Die Jagd nach dem Stiefel

DDR 1961/1962 Spielfilm

Summary

Berlin in 1932. In a worker′s quarter, a Communist pioneer leader is found dead – apparently the man was battered to death. But instead of investigating the case, the police try everything to pin the murder on the Communist friends of the dead man. Eventually, Kurt Büttner, a good friend and comrade of the victim, is arrested, although he constantly claims his innocence. To prove his father′s innocence, Büttner′s twelve-year old son Jack begins to investigate the case on his own. With the help of his pioneer friends and with meticulous detective work, he gets on the track of an SA member whose shoe print exactly matches the boot print at the crime scene. Given this evidence, the police have no other choice than to release Büttner.
