Hanna is a small woman with a strong will to live, who is dreaming of a better future and of a life-changing relationship. When the cosmetics factory, where Hanna works, goes bankrupt and is about to be blown up, she at the last moment saves perfume bottles by the box. But for Hanna, life goes on despite this stroke of fate. She takes a job at a gas station where she has to fend off the ongoing advances of her boss Knuti. After several acquaintances and failed vacation dalliances, there is finally hope for Hanna: While trying to sell the perfume bottles on the local market of her small town, she meets the charming Gansar. But when she learns that their love has no future, it is already too late.
