Sing, Cowboy, sing

DDR 1980/1981 Spielfilm

Summary

The cowboys Joe and Beny are travelling the Wild West as an entertainment duo. As rodeo riders, pig catchers, musicians, and clowns they mostly live from hand to mouth. Nevertheless, they still have their dreams: Joe sees himself as a noble fighter for the good in the world, while Beny wants to become a successful clown. At least, they manage to impress little Susann, who sees her future father in Joe. But her mother Maria is far more pragmatic and favours the sinister, yet rich farmer Dave. When Susann wants to move Joe and Beny to prevent Maria from doing so, she involuntarily endangers them, because Dave claims that they have kidnapped the girl. On the run, they join a family of farmers who also fell victim to Dave. Together, they succeed to prevail over the rich rogue. Even Maria realizes that a good heart is far more important than a well-filled purse.
