Biography
Dan Tang was born in Chengdu, China on September 11 1975. From 1991 to 1998, she studied art and painting at the Sichuan Fine Art University. During that time, she also spent a year as an exchange student at the Kunsthochschule Kassel, from which she received a grant due to her excellent academic record. In 2000, she moved to Wuppertal, where she studied communication design – with focus on film and photography. After a stint as a guest student at the dfffb film academy in Berlin in 2001/2002, she successfully applied at the HFF "Konrad Wolf" film academy in 2003. In 2007, she earned a degree in film direction. Already having completed several student films, she made her feature film debut with the tragicomic love story "I Phone You" in 2011.
