Summary
England in the late 17th century: The rich industrialist Thomas Smithers commissioned the Dutch landscape gardener Meneer Chrome to create the most impressive of all gardens in his extensive estate. What he does not know is that Chrome was simultaneously hired by Fitzmaurice to bankrupt Smithers with this commission. But intrigues and affairs are not only spun on a business level until an assassination attempt is finally made.
