Biography

Agnés Merlet graduated in Fine Arts at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in 1982 and received a diploma from the Paris-based film school IDHEC in 1986. She received the Best Scriptwriter Award and GAN Foundation Award in 1990 and 1991 for her first feature "Le Fils du Requin". The film was awarded the International Critics Prize at the 1993 Venice Film Festival and the Felix for Best Young European Film in 1994. Her films include: "L"Arcane sans moi" (short, 1984), "La Guerre des Pates" (short, 1985), "Poussieres d"Etoiles" (short, 1986), "Le Fils du Requin" (1993) and "Artemisia" (1997).
