Iwan Rheon was born in Carmarthen, Wales on May 13 1985. Growing up in Cardiff, he became an actor when he successfully auditioned for a supporting role in the Welsh daytime TV drama series "Pobol y Cwm". He eventually quit the show in 2004 in order to study acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Following his graduation in 2008, he starred in several stage productions, winning an Olivier Award for his performance in the musical "Spring Awakening" in 2010.
From 2009 until 2011, Rheon was one of the leads of the British sci-fi series "Misfits". He had major roles in the theatrical releases "The Rise" (GB 2012), "Residue" (GB 2015) and "Charlotte's Song" (2015). He gained huge popularity when he joined the cast of "Game of Thrones", playing the cruel Lord Ramsay Bolton from 2013 until 2016. His other TV credits include the 2014 series' "Riviera" (GB) and "Marvel's Inhumans" (US).
In the German science-fiction film "S.U.M. 1", Iwan Rheon plays an elite soldier who is sent on a mission in the year 2070.
