Now at the Movies: Chantal im Märchenland

For those who thought the "Suck Me Shakespeer" film series was over, "Chantal im Märchenland" proves them wrong: the movie is a spin-off of the three box office hits and focuses on the vain Chantal Ackermann, once again portrayed by Jella Haase. She still tries to be an influencer, but unfortunately, she has no followers. When she and her best friend Zeynep (Gizem Emre) find themselves in a fairytale world through an ancient magic mirror, Chantal sees an opportunity for viral social media content. Dressed as princesses, they meet classic fairy tale characters and find themselves in all sorts of bizarre situations. But the friends soon realize that the world of fairy tales has its own pitfalls... Bora Dagtekin is once again responsible for the screenplay and direction of the film, and not only manages to create an original and entertaining extension of his "Suck Me Shakespeer" universe, but also takes an amusingly irreverent look at typical fairy tale clichés. In addition to Haase and Emre, Max von der Groeben reprises his role, this time as the romantic prince; Elyas M'Barek also makes a guest appearance.
