Welcome to the cutthroat world of entertainment. Radio moderator Hannes Engel gets the chance of a lifetime: TELE C′s program director Conrad Scheffer, who is totally stressed out by the never-ending disputes among his colleagues and the channel′s incredibly low ratings,

wants Hannes to host the Late Show with its audience of millions: Hannes′ girlfriend Maria, a television series star, who has just thrown her career out of the window and turned her back on the whole business, is not enthusiastic. Scheffer′s colleague and ex-lover Carla, on the other hand, is quite thrilled; she is working her way up the ladder of success and Hannes will fit right into her schemes. Scheffer, who is congratulating himself on having saved the day, is completely flabbergasted when Dr. August Beer, one of the station′s financiers, tells him off.
Beer has been impatiently waiting for the station to go bankrupt...
