A lyrical film about two women who are confronted with personal and social tragedies: After a traumatic experience in Baghdad, war photographer Grace quits her job. Shortly afterwards, her life partner mysteriously dies in a remote village in the Andes. The same village is the home of Saturnina, whose fiancé passes away following a mercury poisoning. As it turns out, mining facilities contaminate the area with mercury. Saturnina decides to fight the mining industry, which exploits and endangers her people. On the plateau Altiplano, the fates of the two women intertwine.
