Lola has a Brazilian father, a mother who was christened "Victualia" after Pippi Longstocking, and an aunt who is only 80 centimeters tall. And when she turns into the famous singer Jacky Jones at night, she is feted by several million fans. But Lola doesn′t have a best friend – and that is what she misses and wishes for most of all.

At Lola′s new school, however, there is only that weird Flo, who smells so terribly of fish. And the lovely Annalisa visits Lola at the very moment when Lola′s father is raging stark-naked through the apartment because his daughter has accidentally locked him in the bathroom all day. One thing is for sure: Lola needs to do something about this best friend business. In her hiding place, the Super Duper Space Ship, she finally has an idea. Lola sends her greatest wish up into the sky, tied to a balloon. And in reply, she receives a mysterious message in a bottle...
