13 Paces Without a Head
Pirates Klaus Störtebeker and Gödeke Michels and their crews have terrorized the North Sea and the Baltic Sea for a long time. While the rich merchants of the Hanseatic League consider them robbers and rebels, the common people admire them as living legends. One day, Störtebeker is severely wounded during a foray at sea. Although he narrowly survives the incident, he starts to ask himself whether he wants to continue this life in between fights and constant flight. When he falls in love with beautiful Bille, he finds himself at the crossroads: He has to decide between living at sea or at shore, as a pirate or a farmer. Furthermore, he starts to argue with Michels who can only imagine living at sea himself and cannot understand his friend’s doubts. But when they find a legendary miracle weapon, their argument is soon settled. Now, their final battle with the heavily armed ships of the Hanseatic League is about to go off – and this battle is going to decide about the future of the two pirates.
