Hamburg, in the mid-1980s. Young Heinz Strunk is everything but a lucky guy: He is stricken with bad eczema, has to care for his sick mother, and is stuck with an unstable girlfriend who lives next door. Financially, he is struggling as the saxophone player of "Tiffanys", a show band for marksmen′s festivals and village wedding parties. To escape from his misery Heinz wants to start a career as a music producer with Anja and Jette, two singers. But that is more easily said than done – at first, "Heinzer′s" career does not get going at all. Everything seems to change when Heinz saves he life of has-been pop music star Oliver Bendt. When Bendt introduces him as a music producer, Heinz might finally take off on a career in the music business.
