The city of Leipzig is extorted by ruthless blackmailers who emphasise their demands with an attack on the power supply system and further threats that prove their technical and planning finesse. A special police unit takes over the case and tries to get on to the savvy criminals. But although the handing over of the diamonds the blackmailers demanded is monitored with maximum effort, the police suffers a severe setback, and the blackmailers manage to escape with their loot. A strong hint leads the investigators to a small village whose inhabitants behave unapproachable and strange. They seem to know far more than they admit.
