The Red Baron
Dramatized filmic biography about legendary pilot Manfred von Richthofen, who was nicknamed "The Red Baron" for his red-painted fighter plane. During World War I, Manfred von Richthofen was one the best fighter pilots of the Prussian Army. For his daring manouevres, he even commanded the respect of his adversaries on the part of the Allied forces. But although the population pinned its hopes on von Richthofen and his comrades, they only saw their missions as challenges. The venturous men were blind for the atrocities of war. Flying ace von Richthofen did not start to change his mind until he was more and more abused for propaganda purposes and learned about the cruel realities of war through his relationship with nurse Käte.
