The film centers around three city dwellers who try to fulfil their wish for a different and better life: former flight attendant Judith lives in a housing complex in the outskirts with her little son and earns her living as an outworker and telemarketer. Then there is Ulrike, who has just been dumped by her boyfriend, consequently left her safe, but boring position as a civil servant and now wants to reinvent herself. And finally there is Jochen, who struggled as a casual worker and now hopes to make enough money as a salesman in order to afford his own apartment.
