Corinna Belz
Biografie
Corinna Belz was born in Marburg in 1955. She studied philosophy, art history and media studies in Cologne, Zurich and Berlin. As author, director and producer, she was involved in numerous TV and film productions. Among her works are the documentaries "Die wirklichen Dinge passieren in der Nacht" (1992, co-directed by Marion Kollbach), "Leben nach Microsoft" (2001, co-directed by Regina Schilling), "Ein anderes Amerika" (2002) – which was nominated for a Grimme Award – and "Porifera - Die wunderbare Welt der Schwämme" (2009). In 2009, she collaborated with other prolific directors on the extensive documentary project "24h Berlin". After already having portrayed seminal artist Gerhard Richter in the award-winning "Das Kölner Domfenster" (2007), she again focused on the world famous painter in her feature-length documentary "Gerhard Richter – Painting", which was released in September 2011.
