Born in Hünfeld in 1969. He studied visual communication and film at the Academy of Art & Design in Offenbach from 1990-93, and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1994-1998. Since then he has worked as a freelance scriptwriter and director in Berlin. Since 2004 he teaches in the creative department of the HFF in Potsdam-Babelsberg. "Lucy" is his second feature film.
