Gerdy Zint
Biografie
Gerdy Zint, born 1979 in East Berlin, started acting by pure chance: At the age of 20 years old, the trained roof tinsmith came across "Die Zwiefachen", the amateur theatre group of Berlin’s Schaubühne that had been set up to support socially disadvantaged teenagers. When his brother, a DJ, was booked to play music at an opening night party at Schaubühne, Gerdy accompanied him – and joined the group. Gerdy says of himself that he is able to channel his hyperactivity into his performance on stage. After seven years he became a permanent cast member at Schaubühne. To date, he is still regularly seen in guest performances at Schaubühne. After several appearances in short films, a small role in Henner Winckler’s film "Lucy" (2006), and several supporting roles in TV series like "SOKO Wismar". His first leading role in a feature film he played 2006 in the thriller "Locked", followed in 2009 by a leading role in the ensemble of Christian Klandt’s award-winning drama "Weltstadt" ("City of the World"). Based on a true case, he plays a teenager in the film who together with a friend murders a defenseless homeless person.
