11 year old Sebastian lives with his father and his older brother in a Bavarian village. Some day the boy finds out that his mother died when she gave birth to him. He not only feels guilty, but also develops a deep fear of death. Night after night he has nightmares in which the Last Judgement comes upon him and he is sentenced to eternal purgatory.

To get over his trauma Sebastian tries to expiate all of his sins. But soon he realises he is committing even more sins by his uncompromising attempts to expiate them. Finally there seems to be only one way to escape the purgatory: he has to become immortal. After a series of unsuccessful attempts Sebastian realises that his only chance to achieve this goal is to become a rock star. As his father is strictly opposed to this, Sebastian takes measures that simultaneously could expiate his "original sin": He must find a new wife for his father!
