Summary

Christmas Eve in Zurich. Four people, all from a bourgeois background but with utterly different personalities, try to cope with family problems and sexual frustrations. Divorcee Rolf desperately tries to reconnect with his daughter, pregnant Lena is only seemingly happy in her nuclear family, social worker Judith suffers from the psychological stress in her job and Spanish widow Maria finally dares to go on a romantic date with a long-time acquaintance. Eventually connecting the characters is 18-year-old prostitute Mia, who reveals their repressed fears and lies with her peculiar and fascinating demeanor.
