As a matter of fact, attractive Doro Korn is a trained opera singer. But to stay afloat, she has to take a lot of occasional jobs. Furthermore, Doro is taking care of her old neighbor Karl Seiler. The former police inspector is on his deathbed and has only one last wish: to see his son Michael again with whom he had fallen apart many years ago. 20 years have passed since the two men have met for the last time. Correspondingly, the sudden reunion turns out to be rather difficult. After warming up to each other, father and son seem to manage to settle their old conflicts. But at the same time, they become rivals for the affection of beautiful and unconventional Doro.
