Synopsis

Great Freedom No. 7
The four-mast boat, the Padua, sails into Hamburg′s harbor. Jens, Fiete and Karl go on land to visit their friend Hannes, one of the their former colleagues aboard the Padua. Hannes now works as a singer at the famous Hamburg Hippodrom. Just as the four friends are celebrating their reunion, Hannes receives a call that his brother is in the hostipal dying. Feeling a sense of obligation, Hannes takes over the responsibility for looking after his brother′s ex-girlfriend Gisa.

Feeling an attraction to Hannes, she moves in with him, but Hannes only sees her as the girl his brother left behind. When Gisa starts dating someone else, Hannes becomes jealous and finally notices his own attraction to her. Jens and Fiete try to convince him to join them once again aboard the Padua. Faced with his realization, Hannes has to make a decision...
