Millions of people make use of the internet auction platform eBay. "Traders' Dreams" is a portrait of a group of people who are all devoted followers of the so-called "eBay system". Over the period of a year, the film makers have accompanied and observed online auctioneers from Germany, Scotland, and Mexico. But they also take a look behind the scenes of the major corporation and pay a visit to the annual "eBay Live" world congress where the eBay community congregates. But on the other hand, the film also presents eBay's strongest competitors such as "Alibaba", a Chinese online auction platform that has already surpassed eBay in China and now wants to compete against eBay on the global market.
