Charlotte Elisabeth Grace Roche was born March 18, 1978, in Wimbledon, London, and grew up in Niederkrüchten at the Niederrhein. She played in her school's theatre group before successfully applying for the job of a presenter at the music TV channel Viva Zwei. Due to her idiosyncratic and fresh style Roche soon won her own fan base.
Four years later, she went to Viva to present the show "Fast Forward". Furthermore, Roche hosted Pro Sieben's show "Charlotte Roche trifft...". Roche made her movie debut in 1998 in a minor role in the British B horror movie "Demonium". In 2006, Charlotte Roche played her first leading role in Michael Hofmann's romantic comedy "Eden".
