Werner Herzog's remake of F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu" from 1921: Jonathan Harker travels from Wismar to Transsylvania to negotiate with count Dracula about a house purchase. He spends the night in Dracula's castle and on the next morning discovers small red marks on his neck: Dracula is a vampire. Harker escapes from the castle but Dracula is already on his way to Wismar. There, a death ship enters the harbour. Dracula has killed the ship's crew and now spreads the plague in the little city. Harker's wife Lucy sacrifices her life and abandons herself to Dracula. In the first sun rays of the new morning, the vampire disintegrates. But Jonathan Harker has become a new sort of vampire and rides away in the daylight to spread the plague all over the world.
