Hard To Be a God Planet Earth, during the third century. Mankind has eliminated all lower insticts but also all human emotions. This development has resulted in an absolute peaceableness. In a different solar system, they encounter a planet that is also inhabitated by humans. But compared to them, these humans are still in the technological and intellectual stage of development of the Middle Ages. The humans from Planet Earth delegate Rumata as their ambassador but under the strict guideline not to interfere with the historical development of the other planet. But when Rumata witnesses barbaric deeds, he defies his guidelines – just to experience the long suppressed human emotions in the "new old" world on this remote planet.
